Little Camelot Nursery School
Little Camelot Nursery School is an established nursery school in Annlin, Pretoria, South Africa.
We have been in operation for 10 years.
Little Camelot Nursery School prioritizes a Whole Child Development Approach in the program and facilitates this by allowing our children to Learn Through Play. By facilitating this approach, we are able to develop children who can take responsibility, think creatively, collaborate, and learn to function in an ever-changing future.
As a school we offer on-site instruction for learners from 1 - 5 years. Classes are small to ensure individual attention is prioritized. We offer full and half day options to cater for the needs of each family enrolled with us.
We are especially proud of our Special Needs Division for learners with various diagnoses like Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Developmental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Down's Syndrome. Our specific focus is put on learners between the ages of 3 - 5 years, with a maximum of 8 learners per class.
Our school offers on-site and remote support from both an Occupational and Speech Therapist. Learners (mainstream and special needs) are connected with the support team. For learners who are consulting the support team, the therapists also connect with the learner, teacher and parent weekly to ensure that a winning recipe of progress is created and to join support with the learning at school.
For families wishing to keep their preschoolers at home for a prolonged period of time, and are not associated with a local nursery school, we now offer two home based, learning-through-play options. These options allow for support from the school with guided content and pre-recorded tutorials that are easy to navigate and encourage learning throughout the day.
Meugnet Georgiou - Speech Therapy
Meugnet Georgiou has been practicing as a speech-language therapist since 2011. She has been working in the pediatric field since then, with a strong interest in family-centered care. She completed her Masters in Early Childhood Intervention through the University of Pretoria at the end of 2019. She also has a 3-year-old daughter who keeps her on my toes! Meugnet's daughter is following the virtual school program, and gets to experience first-hand all the excitement this program brings. As a mom and therapist she has enjoyed the process of taking what she has learnt about child development and seeing how it applies 'in real life'. She is really looking forward to sharing this information and ideas for boosting development with everyone in this program!
Lee-Ann van Niekerk - Occupational Therapy
As a qualified Occupational Therapist, Lee-Ann has been working in private practice since 2013 - specifically specialising in pediatric treatment. She is in the process of completing her Master’s Degree in Pediatric Occupational Therapy at the University of Witwatersrand.
Her foundational belief is that play is the medium through which children develop important skills that later translate into independent functioning of self-care, educational tasks and social relationships.
Variety of Developmental Special Needs
At Little Camelot Nursery School we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow and learn. Our Exceptional Learners Department combines a unique individual focused program with interactive social and emotional growth opportunities. This allows for holistic learning that builds skills on a daily basis.
